The yield of exts. was equiv. to 10-12% of the wt. of the air-dried plant material. Bakuchiol at 1-5 .mu.g/mL inhibited the growth of gram-pos. bacteria, including staphylococci resistant to more common antibiotics, and at 2-20 .mu.g/mL inhibited dermatophytes. The antibiotic was inactive against most gram-neg. bacteria and most saprophytic and pathogenic fungi.
