The release at pH 7.4 in the absence of Ca was lower than that in Ca presence. The pretreatment of mastocytes with trospium chloride [10405-02-4] or isoproternol [7683-59-2] before sensitization (with rat serum against the ext.) decreased the histamine release by the ext. as compared with histamine release by nonpretreated mastocytes. Thus, the passive sensitization of mast cells in vitro with antiserum to cotton dust is a suitable method for the study of industrial histamine release by cotton dust.
