Glass formation and some properties of the cadmium germanium arsenide-thallium arsenide ((Cd2GeAs4)1-x(TlAs)x) system. Raspopova, E. M.; Kalinnikov, V. T.; Lyubovskaya, T. N.; Chernov, A. P. 53652-76-9 and 12006-09-6 are cas registry numbers. These chemicals are also mentioned in this article.; Fesenko, T. N. (Kola Dep., Inst. Chem., Apatity, USSR). Phys. Status Solidi A, 81(1), 139-43 (English) 1984. CODEN: PSSABA. ISSN: 0031-8965. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 76 (Electric Phenomena) Section cross-reference(s): 57, 65 According to the assumption that glass formation in tetrahedrally bonded multicomponent glasses is due to chains of the Group V elements, glasses in the (Cd2GeAs4)1-x(TlAs)x system were obtained. The transformation of the main structure type of glass (from tetrahedrally bonded into As) together with the change of its properties is shown. The differences in the properties of the glasses is markedly revealed during hydrostatic-pressure expts. and during the study of the temp. dependence of thermoelec. power. These differences are probably connected with the change of the coordination no. of As to 3 in As glasses and agree with the valence alternation pair model. The obtained glasses according to the results of thermoelec. measurements are n-type semiconductors with rather high cond. (up to 10-3 W-1 cm-1 at room temp.). .
