NaOH and PhCl. The alternating block copolymers obtained were transformed into poly(hexamethylene sulfone) arom. poly(ether sulfone) alternating block copolymers by oxidn. with m-chloroperbenzoic acid in CHCl3 soln. DSC anal. of both types of alternating block copolymers show phase sepn., due to the crystn. of the poly(hexamethylene sulfide) or poly(hexamethylene sulfone) blocks.

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Synthetic High Polymers) Polymers contg. pendant amine groups were prepd. by the reaction of amines with chloromethylated polymers, e.g. polyepichlorohydrin [24969-06-0] and epichlorohydrin-ethylene oxide copolymer [24969-10-6], in the presence of phase transfer catalysts, e.g. Bu4NHSO4 [32503-27-8], dicyclohexyl-18-crown-6 [16069-36-6], and Kryptofix 222 [23978-09-8]. The influence of solvent, catalyst, and reaction time were studied and the nature of the amine and the polymeric substrate was varied.
