DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacodynamics) Promintic (methylridine) [114-91-0] (1 mL 90% soln./4.5 kg, s.c.) and BanminthII [26155-31-7](1 mL 4% soln./4 kg) were highly effective against mixed infections with Trichuris, Haemonchus, Nematodirus and Stronglyoides in camels; they were also effective against infections with Trichuris alone. Nilverm (tetramisole-HCl) [5086-74-8] (0.3 mL 3% soln./kg, orally) was less effective and thiabendazole [148-79-8] (90 mg/kg) did not show any encouraging results. Since Banminth II is as effective as Promintic and is also safe and fast acting and does not depend on preliminary starvation of the camel, it is the choice for treatment of helminth infection in camels.

The prepn. was weighed out, dissolved in warm water, and added to the feed (corn, oats) 2-4 h before feeding, and the feed was set out in polymeric containers in dry feeding areas for the animals.
