The decrease in pH, caused by HCl formed in I hydrolysis, decreased the soly of camphor (a constituent of the enamels) which in turn inhibited the leaching of Cu2O. The effectiveness of both I and Cu2O was short-lasting in enamels not contg. camphor. LD50 values of I and II for warm-blooded animals were 53.1 and 54.36 mg/kg, resp.
