Ohmori, Shinji; Mori, Mie; Kawase, Michi; Tsuboi, Seiji (Fac. Pharm. Sci., Okayama Univ., Okayama 700, Japan). J. Chromatogr., 414(1), 149-55 (English) 1987.There are some reagents with their cas registry numbers 7251-61-8 and 78-98-8 are used in this study. CODEN: JOCRAM. ISSN: 0021-9673. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) Section cross-reference(s): 17 To det. methylglyoxal [78-98-8] in biol. samples, it is 1st reacted with o-phenylenediamine [95-54-5] to form 2-methylquinoxaline [7251-61-8] and then extd. with dichloromethane from the biol. material (e.g., liver) and analyzed by HPLC. Methylglyoxal added to rat liver at 1-10 mg/0.5 g was recovered at ~74% with a relative std. deviation of 2.2-6.2%. Recovery of methylglyoxal added to bovine serum albumin was 92.9%, thus the presence of protein, which was removed with strong acid, did not interfere significantly. .
