CODEN: PREBE7. ISSN: 0918-4783. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 78 (Inorganic Chemicals and Reactions) The influence of temp. (20°-1000°) on substrates Zn3(PO4)2×2H2O, MgHPO4×3H2O and their binary mixts. in percentage ratio from 10%-90% was studied. The mixts. 7779-90-0 and 7782-75-4 which are cas registry numbers are also used here. were studied by means of thermal anal. (TG, DTG, DTA), IR spectroscopy, electron microscopy, and wide-angle x-ray scattering (WAXS). Zn3(PO4)2×2H2O (Hopeite) and MgHPO4×3H2O (Newberyite) both occur in cryst. form. Heating these mixed substrates at 500-670° results in transformation to mixts. contg. Zn3(PO4)2 and Mg2P2O7. Further heating to 1000° does not cause other transformations. Zn2Mg(PO4)2 formed in the binary mixts. at >1000° for any binary percentage ratio due to fluidization of Mg2P2O7. .
