Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by (3-Chloro-propyl)-trimethoxy-silane. This reaction will need reagent NaI and solvent acetone. The reaction time is 24 hours.

Uses of Silane,(3-iodopropyl)trimethoxy-: it can be used to produce (3-Cyclopentadienyl)trimethoxysilane. It will need solvent tetrahydrofuran with reaction time of 3 hours. The yield is about 80%.
