Uses of Acetic acid,2-(trimethylsilyl)-, methyl ester: it can be used to produce 3-hydroxy-3-phenyl-2-trimethylsilanyl-propionic acid methyl ester at temperature of -80 °C. This reaction will need reagent LDA, MgBr₂ and solvent tetrahydrofuran. The yield is about 78%.
