Modifying the 5-Position of Thieno[2,3-d][1,2,3]thiadiazole-6-carboxylate Derivatives
Stanetty, Peter,Jaksits, Marion,Mihovilovic, Marko D.
, p. 391 - 394 (2007/10/03)
Thieno[2,3-d][1,2,3]thiadiazole-6-carboxylates 3 belong to a new group of plant protecting agents as highly potent inducers of systemic acquired resistance (SAR). In order to obtain an enhanced basis set for structure activity relationship studies several
A new type of plant activator: Synthesis of thieno[2,3-d][1,2,3]-thiadiazole-6-carboxylic acid derivatives via Hurd-Mori cyclization
Stanetty, Peter,Kremslehner, Manfred,Voellenkle, Horst
, p. 853 - 856 (2007/10/03)
We present a short and efficient synthesis of the title compounds starting with cheap and readily available methylenebutanedioic acid and thioacetic acid. The optimised sequence allows the large-scale preparation of this new type of plant activator in a few steps. ortho-Lithiation is used for the introduction of substituents into the 5-position. A modified reaction mechanism for the Hurd-Mori reaction is suggested to explain the unexpected aromatisation.
Microbicides

, (2008/06/13)
The invention relates to novel microbicidal and plant-immunising compounds of formula I STR1 wherein: X is hydrogen, halogen, C1 -C4 alkyl, SR8, N(R9)R10, CH2 OH, CHO or COOR8 ; R8 to R10 are hydrogen, C1 -C4 alkyl, benzyl, C1 -C4 acyl or benzoyl; Z is hydrogen, halogen, or a methyl group that is unsubstituted or to which from 1 to 3 unsubstituted or substituted hetero atoms O, S and/or N are bonded; in free form or in the form of salts. They can be used in crop protection for controlling and preventing disease infestation.
