JNK inhibitors

JNK inhibitors are compounds designed to block the activity of c-Jun N-terminal kinases (JNKs), a family of serine/threonine protein kinases involved in signaling pathways that regulate cell proliferation, apoptosis, and inflammatory responses. JNKs are activated in response to various stress stimuli, including cytokines, UV radiation, and oxidative stress. Once activated, JNKs phosphorylate downstream targets, including transcription factors such as c-Jun, leading to changes in gene expression that can promote cell survival or apoptosis depending on the context.
