Diphenylselenogermanes are prepared for the first time in 32-89percent yield by the reaction between sodium benzeneselenolate and dihalogermanes (halogen=Cl or Br).The X-ray structure of 1,1-diphenylseleno-1-germacylpentane has been determined.
