The base DBU, which acts as an educt in the condensation of aniline with dichloro-2,4,6-tri-t-butylphenyl-phosphane, reacts with chlorophosphane to give 1,8-diaza-6-(2',4',6'-tri-t-butylphenylphosphanylidene)-bicyclo-<5.4.0>-undec-7-ene, which in turn forms the stable chelate complexes with the metal carbonyls of Fe, Mo and Cr.
