Boron trifluoride etherate catalyzed the formal <2+2>cycloaddition of 2,3-O-isopropylidene derivatives of aldehyde-D-aldose with enol ethers, vinyl sulfide, and disubstituted terminal olefins to afford chiral oxetanes.
