As is seen from Tables 1–3, tetrabromo-substitution
in the β-positions of ç2TPP changes the electronic
structure of a macrocycle such that the polarization of
the N–H bond is not suppressed in either pyridine or
glacial acetic acid. These data are of great interest for
the development of structural chemistry of aromatic
macrocycles with the N–H, C–H, S–H and other bonds
capable of giving complexes with the d-metal salts.
