Bazzania fauriana; Jungermannalies; Hepaticae; sesqiuterpenoids; bazzanane; drimane; valencane; eudesmane; cuparane; bazzanenyl caffeate; drimenyl caffeate; 7α-hydroxyvalenc-1(10)-ene; 6β-hydroxyeudesm-3-ene; chemosystematics.Four new sesquiterpenoids, bazzanenyl caffeate, drimenyl caffeate, 6β-hydroxyeudesm-3-ene and 7α-valenc-1(10)-ene have been isolated from the liverwort Bazzania fauriana and their structures determined by chemical transformation and extensive NMR spectral experiments.The present species belongs to the new chemotype of Bazzania species.
