Several substituted β-tetralols 1a-c and β-tetralol 2 were successfully resolved using porcine pancreatin in hydrocarbon solvents. All attempts to resolve the substituted β-tetralols by diasteromeric derivatization have failed. The absolute configuration of the products was established by literature precedence.
