Treatment of Ph2PCH=CH2 with or with , gives cis-, which on treatment with LiBr gives the corresponding dibromide, or with NaI, the corresponding di-iodide.In dichloromethane solution, cis- partially isomerizes to give a cis/trans-mixture.Treatment of with Ph2PCH=CH2 gives cis-.Treatment of with Ph2PCH=CH2 gives a mixture of cis- and trans-, which with LiBr gives a similar mixture of the corresponding dibromides, while reaction with NaI gives trans-. 31P<1H> NMR and 1H- and 1H<31P> NMR, and IR spectroscopic data are given.
