Oxidation products
Simple aldehydes, ketones and lactones obtained by oxidation
were characterized by the usual spectral data (mass, IR, 1H
and 13C NMR) and compared with the literature values. The
oxidation products of primary-secondary diols were already
described: 10-hydroxyundecanal,4c 10-oxoundecan-1-ol,11 10-
oxoundecanal,3b 4-(a-phenylhydroxymethyl)benzaldehyde,13
4-(hydroxymethyl)benzophenone,12 4-benzoyl benzaldehyde.12
