Four new organo rare earth hydrides <(CH2)3Cp2LnH(THF)>2 (Cp = C5H4; Ln = Y, Dy, Er, Lu) were synthesized by the hydrogenolysis of the corresponding t-butyl complexes.The were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, MS, and 1H NMR spectroscopy.The reduction and catalytic hydrogenation of 1-hexene by the hydrides were also studied.
