The primary and secondary alcohols were conveniently silylated (t-BuMe₂Si-, Et₃Si-, and Me₂PhSi-) using the hydrosilanes, and sterically hindered alcohols were also silyated (Me₃Si- and Meph₂Si-) using the disilanes, promoted by tetrabutylammonium fluoride (TBAF) catalyst under mild conditions.
