An antitumor styryl-lactone, (+)-goniofufurone was synthesized in a highly diastereoselecdve manner from (+)-tricarbonyl(η⁶-2-trimethylsilylbenzaldehyde)chromium(0) complex through stereoselective aldol reactions as crucial steps.
