Structural study of Ni-substituted Pb2Sr2YCu3O8+δ

Novel Pb₂Sr₂YCu_3-xNi_xO₈ materials have been obtained. By means of powder neutron diffraction a structural study of a sample with x?0.8 was performed. Ni cation substitutes approximately 27% of copper ions scattering entering the Cu(2) positions and forming (Cu_0.6Ni_0.4)O₂ planes. The crystal structure is described in the space group Cmmm.
