The regioselective synthesis, spectrometric data (1 H and 13 C NMR, and MS) and the X-ray crystal structure determination of the title compound, C₁₂H₁₅BrN₂O₂, are reported. In spite of the presence of a Br atom ortho to the bulky α-aminonitrile group, normal molecular dimensions have been found.
