HYDROGEN REDUCTION STUDIES OF MEMBERS OF THE SYSTEM MgFe2 - xCrxO4.

Members of the system MgFe//2// minus //xCr//xO//4 with x equals 0, 0. 22, and 0. 4 were prepared and were reduced in hydrogen at 450 degree C for various times up to 80 hours. The stability of these phases in a hydrogen atmosphere is compared to the reducibility of pure Fe//2O//3 under comparable conditions, and the reduction products are studied by X-ray analysis.
