ꢀ3 nm and narrow size distribution by virtue of the modified sup-
port which prevents their sintering during thermal annealing at
800 °C and increases their stability in acid solutions and electro-
chemical environments. Among all the investigated supported cat-
alysts, Pt3Co/CNT exhibited highest MOR activity, CO tolerance, and
long-term cyclability. The improved electrochemical response and
facile synthesis make the present method promising for the prepa-
ration of various CNT-supported well-dispersed pure metal and al-
loy nanoparticles of small size and narrow size distribution. The
modification process of the support can also be extended to other
types of substrates such as carbon nanofibers and mesoporous car-
bon materials.
