The Poly(acrylamide), with the CAS number of 9003-05-8, can be called 2-Propenamide, homopolymer ; Acrylamide homopolymer ; Poly(2-propenamide) ; Polyacrylamide resin; Polyacrylamide .This chemical's molecular formula is (C3H5NO)x-.  It is a white to faintly yellow granule. It can be synthesized as a simple linear-chain structure or cross-linked, typically using N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide.And it is stable,incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, aluminium, copper, iron, iron salts.

Uses of Poly(acrylamide): 
One of the largest uses for Poly(acrylamide) is to flocculate or coagulate solids in a liquid. This process applies to wastewater treatment, and processes like paper making. Another common use is in subsurface applications such as Enhanced Oil Recovery. The ionic form of it has found an important role in the potable water treatment industry.Trivalent metal salts like ferric chloride and aluminium chloride are bridged by the long polymer chains of polyacrylamide.
