Uses
Thulium(III) acetate hydrate is a moderately water soluble crystalline Thulium source that decomposes to Thulium Oxide on heating. It is generally immediately available in most volumes. It can also be used in portable X-ray devices that has been bombarded in a nuclear reactor as a radiation source. The other main application is used for optical fiber. Dysprosium(III) fluoride is specialized uses in laser glass, phosphors, Dysprosium halide lamp and also as the main raw materials for making Dysprosium metal.
