The Sage oil, with the CAS registry number 8022-56-8, is also known as Oil of sage and Dalmatian sage oil. What's more, its systematic name is called Oils, sage. Sage oil is the essential oil made from the culinary herb sage, Salvia officinalis. In addition to its valuable flavoring characteristics, sage oil can contain as much as 50% thujone by weight.
