Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by chloro-dimethyl-silane, ethene at the temperature of 45°C. This reaction will need solvent diethyl ether with the reaction time of 10 hours. It will also need catalyst H2PtCl6·H2O. The yield is about 80%.

Uses of Silane,chloroethyldimethyl-: it can be used to produce 2-bromo-4,6-di-tert-butylphenoxyethyldimethylsilane by heating. It will need reagent Et3N and solvent tetrahydrofuran with the reaction time of 5 hours. The yield is about 75.5%.
