Paired Electrolysis

In paired electrolysis, an anode and a cathode are used to perform oxidation and reduction reactions, respectively. This concept is applied to drive the electrochemical C–H activation and arylating reactions simultaneously. The electrons generated at the cathode can reduce the aryldiazonium salt, while the anode oxidizes the C(sp2)–H bond.
