Selective Activation

To selectively activate the desired functional group for amidation, you can use appropriate coupling reagents and reaction conditions. For example, if you want to amidate the carboxyl group, you can use coupling reagents like HATU or HBTU in the presence of a base. If you want to amidate the amino group, you can use reagents like EDC (1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide) or DIC (diisopropylcarbodiimide) with a suitable amine.
