Chemical Baike

Glycosylation

To add the N-acetylglucosamine residue at the reducing end, you'll perform a glycosylation reaction. This involves coupling the protected hyaluronic acid fragment with a protected N-acetylglucosamine derivative. Activating agents like DCC (dicyclohexylcarbodiimide) and HOBt (1-hydroxybenzotriazole) are typically used. The reaction should be carefully monitored to ensure regioselectivity.
