Spatial Structure

The spatial structure of the molecule is determined by the arrangement of atoms and the bond angles. The dichloromethyl group will be oriented relative to the aromatic ring, and the angle between the carbon-chlorine-carbon atoms in the dichloromethyl group is approximately 120 degrees. The aromatic ring is flat due to resonance, and the carbon-carbon bonds are generally planar.
