Benzyl alkynes are important organic building blocks in organic synthesis. We report herein a B(C6F5)3-catalyzed site-selective 1,2-reduction of readily available alkynones to access benzyl alkyne derivatives. Under the de

An atom economic procedure for the regioselective synthesis of bridged seven-membered-ring compounds from simple reactants such as ynones and indene-1,3-dione has been developed. This process was realized through the one-pot reactions of ring-expansion of
Straightforward Stereoselective Synthesis of Seven-Membered Oxa-Bridged Rings through in Situ Generated Cycloheptenol Derivatives
Wang, Mengdan,Yin, Liqiang,Cheng, Lu,Yang, Yajie,Li, Yanzhong
, p. 12956 - 12963 (2021/09/13)
An iodine-mediated stereoselective synthesis of seven-membered oxa-bridged rings via in situ generated cycloheptenols was reported. This process was realized through the combination of C-C σ-bond cleavage and C-O bond-forming reactions in a one-pot fashion from simple and easily accessible raw materials. The formation of carbon radicals initiated by I2 was the key to the reaction.
Selective Insertion of Alkynes into C-C σ Bonds of Indolin-2-ones: Transition-Metal-Free Ring Expansion Reactions to Seven-Membered-Ring Benzolactams or Chromone Derivatives

An unprecedented ring expansion reaction of indolin-2-ones with alkynyl ketones under transition-metal-free conditions has been developed. Base-promoted selective cleavage of a C-C σ bond of the amide is the key in this process, which provides a straightf

supporting information, p. 6794 - 6798 (2020/09/15)
An efficient strategy for facilitating the cross-coupling of two radicals has been established via the coordination of a radical with a metal catalyst. This strategy provides a remarkable ability to harness the reactivity of nitrile-containing azoalkanes and enables a novel cascade reaction with nitrile-containing azoalkanes and propargylic alcohols to be established. By using this reaction, a range of acetylenic and allenic amides were obtained that provides a versatile platform for further derivatizations.

supporting information, p. 4225 - 4229 (2019/05/10)
We describe herein the synthetic method to benzoxazole derivatives via the copper-catalyzed hydroamination of alkynones with 2-aminophenols. The method produced a wide variety of functionalized benzoxazole derivatives in good yields. Preliminary mechanistic experiments revealed that the reaction would proceed through the copper-catalyzed hydroamination of alkynones and the sequential intramolecular cyclization of β-iminoketones/elimination of acetophenone promoted by the copper catalyst.

Disilylation of alkynes could provide rapid entry to synthetically useful 1,2-bissilyl-alkenes, but is currently limited to activated disilanes reacting in an intramolecular fashion. Reported herein is an efficient rhodium(I)-catalyzed intermolecular disi
Hydrotalcite-supported palladium nanoparticles as catalysts for the hydroarylation of carbon-carbon multiple bonds
Di Nicola,Arcadi,Gallucci,Mucciante,Rossi
supporting information, p. 1952 - 1957 (2018/02/09)
Palladium nanoparticles supported on Mg/Ca hydrotalcites catalyze the hydroarylation reaction of different alkynes and alkenes with aryl iodides under air in MeCN. The reaction of tertiary propargylic alcohols (1) with aryl iodides (2) yields, stereoselectively, γ,γ-diarylallylic alcohols (3) in moderate to high yields and high selectivity. Also, the HT/Pd hydroarylation reaction with aryl iodides was attempted on norbornene and α,β-unsaturated ketones affording, respectively, exo-aryl bicyclo[2.2.1]heptanes and β-aryl ketones in moderate to high yields. All the reactions described benefit from using a heterogeneous catalyst with evident advantages in terms of reaction purification and recyclability of the catalyst.
