Regioselective Bromine/Magnesium Exchange for the Selective Functionalization of Polyhalogenated Arenes and Heterocycles
Desaintjean, Alexandre,Haupt, Tobias,Bole, Leonie J.,Judge, Neil R.,Hevia, Eva,Knochel, Paul
, p. 1513 - 1518 (2020/11/30)
Using the bimetallic combination sBu2Mg?2 LiOR (R=2-ethylhexyl) in toluene enables efficient and regioselective Br/Mg exchanges with various dibromo-arenes and -heteroarenes under mild reaction conditions and provides bromo-substituted magnesiu
Selective formation of non-conjugated olefins by samarium(II)-mediated elimination/isomerization of allylic benzoates
Schaefer, Sara L.,Roberts, Connor L.,Volz, Erasmus O.,Grasso, Monika R.,O'Neil, Gregory W.
supporting information, p. 6125 - 6128 (2013/10/22)
Aromatic allylic benzoates can be selectively transformed to the corresponding benzoate eliminated olefin by the action of samarium diiodide. Depending on the substrate and the elimination conditions, high selectivity for the non-conjugated alkene product
A concise synthesis of 4′-O-methyl honokiol
Denton, Ross M.,Scragg, James T.,Saska, Jan
supporting information; experimental part, p. 2554 - 2556 (2011/06/21)
A concise and protecting group free synthesis of the naturally occurring neolignan 4′-O-methyl honokiol is developed. The key biaryl bond is constructed by 1,2-addition of an aryl Grignard reagent to a dienone followed by rearrangement.
