The invention provides a preparation method of an acetylbenzene compound shown as a formula III. The preparation method comprises the following step: in an organic solvent, in the presence of an acid and water, carrying out a deesterification reaction as shown in the specification on a 2-benzoyl malonate compound as shown in a formula I and/or a tautomer thereof to obtain the acetylbenzene compound as shown in a formula III, wherein X is F, Cl, Br or I; wherein R1 and R2 are each independently a C1-C4 alkyl group. By adopting the 2-benzoyl malonate compound disclosed by the invention, 4-halogenated-2-trifluoromethyl acetophenone can be prepared through one-step reaction, and the operation is simple and convenient.
