General Description
Solid.
Reactivity Profile
1,2-DIETHYL- HYDRAZINE is a chemical base and a reducing agent. Neutralizes acids in exothermic reactions to form salts plus water. Incompatible with isocyanates, halogenated organics, peroxides, phenols (acidic), epoxides, anhydrides, and acid halides. Flammable gaseous hydrogen may generated in combination with strong reducing agents, such as hydrides.
Health Hazard
Inhalation of material may be harmful. Contact may cause burns to skin and eyes. Inhalation of Asbestos dust may have a damaging effect on the lungs. Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases. Some liquids produce vapors that may cause dizziness or suffocation. Runoff from fire control may cause pollution.
Fire Hazard
Some may burn but none ignite readily. Containers may explode when heated. Some may be transported hot.
Safety Profile
Confirmed carcinogen
with experimental carcinogenic,
tumorigenic, and teratogenic data. It is also a
transplacental carcinogen. Mutation data
reported. When heated to decomposition it
emits toxic fumes of NOx. See also

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 1615-80-1 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,6,1 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1615-80:
(6*1)+(5*6)+(4*1)+(3*5)+(2*8)+(1*0)=71
71 % 10 = 1
So 1615-80-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
