18243-27-1 Usage

General Description

Dimethylvinylsilane is a chemical compound with the formula (CH3)2Si(CH=CH2). It is a colorless, flammable liquid that is used as a reactive intermediate in the production of silicones and other organosilicon compounds. Dimethylvinylsilane is commonly employed in the hydrosilylation reaction, where the vinyl group undergoes addition to silicon-hydrogen bonds to form new carbon-silicon bonds. This process is used in the synthesis of various silicone polymers, resins, and elastomers, which find applications in diverse industries such as construction, automotive, and healthcare. Dimethylvinylsilane is also utilized as a precursor in the manufacture of specialty chemicals and as a crosslinking agent in the production of coatings and adhesives. Due to its reactivity and versatile applications, dimethylvinylsilane is an important chemical in the field of silicon-based materials and polymer science.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 18243-27-1 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,8,2,4 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 18243-27:
(7*1)+(6*8)+(5*2)+(4*4)+(3*3)+(2*2)+(1*7)=101
101 % 10 = 1
So 18243-27-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Gas-phase ion-molecular reactions of free ethylsilylium ions with ethylene

Shchukin,Kochina,Sinotova,Ignat'ev

, p. 206 - 209 (2007/10/03)

Gas-phase reaction of ethylsilylium ions with ethylene was studied by the radiochemical method. The reaction occurs via excited adduct C4H11Si+ which structurally is a complex of ethylsilylium cation with ethylene. The lifetime of this complex is long enough for the isotope exchange between tritium atoms of the cation and a proton of ethylene, as well as the isomerization of ethylsilylium cation to dimethylsilylium to occur. Decomposition of the complex results in predominant formation of labeled ethylene.
