supporting information, p. 6982 - 6986 (2021/09/08)
Herein, we report an indirect trifluoromethylthiolation of sodium arylsulfinates. This transition-metal-free reaction significantly provides an environmentally friendly and practical synthetic method for aryl trifluoromethyl thioethers using commercial Ruppert-Prakash reagent TMSCF3. This approach is also a potential alternative to the current industrial production method owing to facile substrates, excellent functional group compatibility, and operational simplicity.
Preparation method of diaryl disulfide
-
Paragraph 0061-0063, (2020/02/29)
The invention relates to a preparation method of diaryl disulfide. The method comprises the following steps: reacting halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon with magnesium powder to generate a Grignard reagent, adding sulfur powder, and carrying out a reaction under the action of an acid and an oxidant to obtain the diaryl disulfide. The aromatic disulfide is synthesized by using the cheap and easily available halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon as a synthesis raw material, and then reacts with the magnesium powder to generate the Grignard reagent, and the Grignard reagent reacts with the sulfur powderunder the action of the acid and the oxidant to obtain the diaryl disulfide. The whole method has the advantages of realization of direct synthesis without heavy metal catalysis or complex ligands inthe process and midway discharging, environmental friendliness, high conversion rate, high yield, high purity, simple process, convenience in operation, and suitableness for large-scale production.

A highly efficient and chemoselective method for the synthesis of diaryl disulfides is developed via a visible light-promoted coupling of readily accessible arenediazonium tetrafluoroborates and CS2. This practical and convenient protocol provides a direct pathway for the assembly of a series of disulfides in an environmentally friendly manner with good to excellent yields.

Abstract: An efficient one-pot method for the synthesis of organic disulfides from aryl and alkyl halides and potassium sulfide has been described. K2S acts as an inexpensive and readily available sulfur source. A variety of symmetric diaryl and dialkyl disulfides was prepared in good to excellent yields using NiCl2·6H2O and acetylacetone as the catalytic system. A tunable and practical synthesis of electrophilic sulfenylating reagents, thiosulfonates and disulfides, from inexpensive and easily available sulfonyl chlorides, has been developed. By appropriate choice of solvents, the reaction of sulfonyl chlorides and tetrabutylammonium iodide gave the target products in good to excellent yields, respectively. These transformations probably proceed through a reducing–coupling pathway. (Figure presented.).

Reaction of 9-phenylthioxanthylium salt (1) with phenyl-lithium afforded eight compounds, 9-phenyl- (2), 9,9-diphenyl- (3). 3,9-diphenyl (4), 3,9,9-triphenyl- (5), and 4,9,9-triphenyl-thioxanthene (6), 9,9'-diphenyl-9,9'-bithioxanthenyl (7), thioxanthone (8), and 9,9'-diphenyldithioxanth-9-yl peroxide (9).Their structures were determined by comparison with the authentic samples.Six samples, (3)-(6), 2,9,9-triphenyl- (30), 9-(biphenyl-4-yl)-9-phenylthioxanthene (31) were independently synthesized in order to determine the structures of two pairs of positional isomers, 3,4, and 5,6.A radical mechanism contributed to the reaction of compound (1) with phenyl-lithium.

Carbon disulphide and methyl iodide converted the anhydrobases (3) into 8-pyridinium iodides (4) which afforded new pyridinium anhydrobases (5) with epoxide. These anhydrobases rearranged into the isomeric ketene S,S-dithioacetals (6), precursors for disulphides.
