Acylation of phosphinoylacetonitriles under conditions of phase-transfer catalysis results in formation of C-acyl derivatives in high yields.According to NMR spectra, the latter have enol structure (Z isomers).Effects of substituents on the phosphorus atom, acylating agents, type of heterophase system, and reaction conditions on the yield of the acylation products were studied. α-Acetyl-α-diphenylphosphinoylacetonitrile in the enol form was studied by x-ray diffraction.
