The invention relates to the field of organic synthesis, in particular to a method for preparing a 1,2,4-oxadiazole compound. The method for preparing the 1,2,4-oxadiazole compound comprises the following specific steps that alkyne and nitrile are dissolved into a solvent, under an atmosphere of inert gas, an addition agent is added, a nitration reagent is used as a catalyst, and a product I is obtained through heating reaction; and the product I is subjected to column chromatography chromatographic separation to obtain the 1,2,4-oxadiazole compound. The method for preparing the 1,2,4-oxadiazole compound is simple in technology, and materials are easy to get. The problems that a method for synthesizing the 1,2,4-oxadiazole compound in the prior art is complex in steps, high in cost, largepollution to the environment, more in side reaction, low in yield and the like are solved.
