Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 27000-73-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,7,0,0 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 27000-73:
(7*2)+(6*7)+(5*0)+(4*0)+(3*0)+(2*7)+(1*3)=73
73 % 10 = 3
So 27000-73-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Polyethylene glycol-enhanced chemoselective synthesis of organic carbamates from amines, CO2, and alkyl halides

Kong, De-Lin,He, Liang-Nian,Wang, Jin-Quan

scheme or table, p. 3298 - 3307 (2011/09/15)

An efficient and environmentally benign method for the synthesis of organic carbamates was developed. Amines, CO2, and alkyl halides underwent a three-component reaction with the aid of K2CO3 and polyethylene glycol (PEG, MW=400), affording the organic carbamates under ambient conditions. PEG could presumably act as a solvent and phase-transfer catalyst (PTC). Notably, the presence of PEG could also depress the alkylation of both the amine and the carbamate, thus resulting in enhanced selectivity toward the target carbamate. REACTION OF ORGANIC CARBONATES WITH AMINES. II. REACTION OF ALKYL PHENYL CARBONATES WITH SECONDARY AMINES

Mikheev, V. V.,Svetlakov, N. V.,Garipov, R. M.,Kalmykova, N. D.

, p. 1865 - 1868 (2007/10/02)

The reaction of alkyl phenyl carbonates with secondary amines leads to the formation of N,N-dialkylurethanes and phenols. The reaction has overall second order. The effect of the substituents in the aromatic ring of the alkyl phenyl carbonates and the polarity of the solvent on the reaction rate was investigated.
