It is a colorless, highly reactive, and moisture-sensitive solid, often used as a strong base and nucleophile in organic synthesis. Lithium, (2-fluorophenyl)- is formed by the reaction of lithium metal with 2-fluorobenzene and is commonly employed in the formation of carbon-carbon bonds, carbon-heteroatom bonds, and as a reagent in various coupling reactions.
