1,1,1,4,4,4-HEXAFLUORO-2-BUTENE is a fluorinated olefin compound with the chemical formula C4F6. It is a colorless, flammable gas with a mild, ether-like odor and is primarily used as a refrigerant and in the production of fluoropolymers. 1,1,1,4,4,4-HEXAFLUORO-2-BUTENE is highly reactive, and its main uses include as a monomer in the production of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and as a precursor in the synthesis of other fluorochemicals. 1,1,1,4,4,4-HEXAFLUORO-2-BUTENE is considered a greenhouse gas and has been identified as an ozone-depleting substance, so its use and production are regulated under international environmental agreements.
