Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 41882-77-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 4,1,8,8 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 41882-77:
(7*4)+(6*1)+(5*8)+(4*8)+(3*2)+(2*7)+(1*7)=133
133 % 10 = 3
So 41882-77-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Carboxylation of alkylboranes by N-heterocyclic carbene copper catalysts: Synthesis of carboxylic acids from terminal alkenes and carbon dioxide

Ohishi, Takeshi,Zhang, Liang,Nishiura, Masayoshi,Hou, Zhaomin

, p. 8114 - 8117 (2011/10/18)

Caught in the act: N-Heterocyclic carbene copper(I) complexes (1; IPr=1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene) serve as an excellent catalyst for the carboxylation of alkylboranes (2; R=alkyl) with CO2 to afford a variety of functionalized carboxylic acids (3) in high yields. A novel copper methoxide/alkylborane adduct (A) and its subsequent CO2 insertion product (B) have been isolated and shown to be true active catalyst species.

Photoinitiators for photopolymerization of unsaturated systems

-

, (2008/06/13)

Compounds of the general formula I STR1 wherein Z is CR1 R2 (OR3) or phenyl, R1 being H, C1-6 -alkyl or phenyl, R2 being H, C1-6 -alkyl or C1-6 -alkoxy and R3 being H, C1-6 -alkyl or C1-6 -alkanoyl and Z' is Y--[(CH2)m --X]n --, X being CH2 or 0, Y being OH; COOH or SO3 H including the alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium salts thereof and also the salts thereof with organic nitrogen bases; or NRR' in which R and R' are in each case H, C1-20 -alkyl or C1-4 -hydroxyalkyl, if appropriate quaternized or in the form of the acid addition salts, and n and m each being the numbers 1-4, are excellently suitable as photoinitiators for the photopolymerization of ethylenically unsaturated compounds, in particular in aqueous systems.

Liquid Crystalline Properties of Cholesteryl ω-Arylalkanoates

Koden, Mitsuhiro,Miyake, Shiro,Takenaka, Shunsuke,Kusabayashi, Shigekazu

, p. 2387 - 2390 (2007/10/02)

The thermal properties of the homologous series of cholesteryl ω-(4-benzoylphenyl)- (I), ω-(4-benzylphenyl)- (II), ω-benzoyl- (III), and ω-phenoxyalkanoate (IV) have been investigated. For series I and II the cholesteric-isotropic (Ch-I) transition temperatures, enthalpies, and entropies show a remarkable alternation. For series III and IV, the transition temperatures, enthalpies, and entropies exhibit weak alternation and their trends are opposite to those for series I and II, and the cholesteryl ω-phenylalkanoates.The cholesteric-isotropic transition temperatures are discussed in terms of the geometrical and electrical alternations stemming from the terminal aryl groups, and also the relative importance between these two terms.
