Phenylglyoxal bis(2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone) is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C14H10N6O6. It is derived from phenylglyoxal, an organic compound with the formula C6H5CHO, which reacts with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine to form the bis(2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone) derivative. phenylglyoxal bis(2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone) is often used as a reagent in analytical chemistry for the detection and determination of aldehydes and ketones due to its ability to form colored complexes with these functional groups. The compound is characterized by its yellow crystalline appearance and is sensitive to light, which can lead to decomposition. It is typically handled under controlled laboratory conditions due to its potential reactivity and the need for safety precautions.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 4881-22-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 4,8,8 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 4881-22:
(6*4)+(5*8)+(4*8)+(3*1)+(2*2)+(1*2)=105
105 % 10 = 5
So 4881-22-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis of 1H-[1,2,3]triazolo[4,5-e][1,2,3,4]tetrazine 4,6-dioxide and its methyl derivatives

Voronin,Zelenov,Churakov,Strelenko, Yu. A.,Tartakovsky

, p. 699 - 703 (2015)

1H-[1,2,3]Triazolo[4,5-e][1,2,3,4]tetrazine 4,6-dioxide (3) was synthesized by reduction of 1-hydroxy-1H-[1,2,3]triazolo[4,5-e][1,2,3,4]tetrazine 5,7-dioxide (1) with PCl3, reduction of 1-methoxy-1H-[1,2,3]triazolo[4,5-e][1,2,3,4]tetrazine 5,7-dioxide (4)

A Novel Hydrazino-transfer Reaction to a Saturated Carbon: Direct Conversion of Substituted Acetophenone and Aliphatic Ketone 4-Nitrophenylhydrazones into 1,2-Bis-hydrazones. Reactions of Mercury(II) Acetate with Nitrogen Compounds. Part 6

Butler, Richard N.,Morris, Gerard J.

, p. 2218 - 2221 (2007/10/02)

Treatment of a series of substituted acetophenone 4-nitrophenylhydrazones with mercury(II) acetate in acetic acid gave the corresponding substituted phenylglyoxal bis-(4-nitrophenylhydrazones) in varying yields.Similar reactions involving hydrazino-transfers to methyl groups were observed with the 4-nitrophenylhydrazones of acetone, propiophenone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl benzyl ketone, and also with the 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazones of acetone and acetophenone.Substituent influences on product distribution and a possible mechanism are discussed.
