A series of diamagnetic divalent nickel complexes supported by a tridentate amido diphosphine ligand [N(o-C6H4PR2) 2]- ([R-PNP]-; R = Ph, iPr, Cy) have been prepared and characte
Catalytic carbon-carbon bond formation

, (2008/06/13)
The present invention mainly relates to a carbon-carbon bond formation catalyzed by a complex comprising a novel and stable ligand and a metal center. The ligand uses a ring, particularly a phenyl group, or a hydrocarbon group to link an amino group and PR1R2, NR1R2, OR1, SR1, or AsR1R2 group for stabling the structure of the ligand.

A series of o-phenylene derivatives were synthesized with an aim to develop new chelating amido phosphine ligands. A monoanionic tridentate bis(2-diphenylphosphinophenyl)amide ligand and its lithium and divalent nickel derivatives were prepared. The coordination chemistry of the synthesized products were studied. The alkyl complexes were found to be highly stable to β-elimination.
