Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 58680-45-8 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,8,6,8 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 58680-45:
(7*5)+(6*8)+(5*6)+(4*8)+(3*0)+(2*4)+(1*5)=158
158 % 10 = 8
So 58680-45-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Efficiency Enhancement of a Photocatalytic Decarbonylation of an Aminocyclopropenone by Benzothiophene Substitution

Mishiro, Kenji,Nomura, Mitsuki,Furuyama, Taniyuki,Kunishima, Munetaka

, p. 3625 - 3636 (2021/03/03)

To improve the efficiency of the photocatalytic decarbonylation of cyclopropenones, the effects of substituents on cyclopropenone were explored. A benzothiophene-substituted aminocyclopropenone exhibited significantly improved decarbonylation efficiency t

Three-Component Visible-Light-Induced Palladium-Catalyzed 1,2-Alkyl Carbamoylation/Cyanation of Alkenes

Jia, Xiangqing,Zhang, Ziyan,Gevorgyan, Vladimir

, p. 13217 - 13222 (2021/11/01)

A mild visible-light-induced Pd-catalyzed one-pot three-component alkyl-carbamoylation and cyanation of alkenes was developed. This general transformation, which proceeds via the in situ formation of a reactive ketenimine intermediate, allows for a rapid construction of a broad range of valuable amides and nitriles from readily available alkenes, alkyl iodides, and isocyanides. An efficient synthesis of tetrazole and amidine via this approach was also demonstrated.

Metal-free approach for hindered amide-bond formation with hypervalent iodine(iii) reagents: application to hindered peptide synthesis

Lee, Hyo-Jun,Huang, Xiao,Sakaki, Shigeyoshi,Maruoka, Keiji

, p. 848 - 855 (2021/02/09)

A new bio-inspired approach is reported for amide and peptide synthesis using α-amino esters that possess a potential activating group (PAG) at the ester residue. To activate the ester functionality under mild metal-free conditions, we exploited the facile dearomatization of phenols with hypervalent iodine(iii) reagents. Using a pyridine-hydrogen fluoride complex, highly reactive acyl fluoride intermediates can be successfully generated, thereby allowing for the smooth formation of sterically hindered amides and peptides from bulky amines and α-amino esters, respectively.

Visible-Light Decatungstate/Disulfide Dual Catalysis for the Hydro-Functionalization of Styrenes

Prieto, Alexis,Taillefer, Marc

supporting information, p. 1484 - 1488 (2021/03/08)

We describe an efficient photoredox system, relying on decatungstate/disulfide catalysts, for the hydrofunctionalization of styrenes. In this methodology the use of disulfide as a cocatalyst was shown to be crucial for the reaction efficiency. This photoredox system was employed for the hydro-carbamoylation, -acylation, -alkylation, and -silylation of styrenes, giving access to a large variety of useful building blocks and high-value molecules such as amides and unsymmetrical ketones from simple starting materials.

Efficient cleavage of tertiary amide bonds: Via radical-polar crossover using a copper(ii) bromide/Selectfluor hybrid system

Maruoka, Keiji,Matsumoto, Akira,Wang, Zhe

, p. 12323 - 12328 (2020/12/08)

A novel approach for the efficient cleavage of the amide bonds in tertiary amides is reported. Based on the selective radical abstraction of a benzylic hydrogen atom by a CuBr2/Selectfluor hybrid system followed by a selective cleavage of an N-C bond, an acyl fluoride intermediate is formed. This intermediate may then be derivatized in a one-pot fashion. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions and exhibits a broad substrate scope with respect to the tertiary amide moiety as well as to nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon nucleophiles for the subsequent derivatization. Mechanistic studies suggest that the present reaction proceeds via a radical-polar crossover process that involves benzylic carbon radicals generated by the selective radical abstraction of a benzylic hydrogen atom by the CuBr2/Selectfluor hybrid system. Furthermore, a synthetic application of this method for the selective cleavage of peptides is described. This journal is

Phototriggered Active Alkyne Generation from Cyclopropenones with Visible Light-Responsive Photocatalysts

Mishiro, Kenji,Kimura, Takeshi,Furuyama, Taniyuki,Kunishima, Munetaka

supporting information, p. 4101 - 4105 (2019/06/17)

A photocatalytic active alkyne generation reaction was developed using cyclopropenone as a starting reagent. Visible light-responsive photocatalysts induced cyclopropenone decarbonylation. The resulting highly reactive alkyne could be used directly, witho

A Practical and General Amidation Method from Isocyanates Enabled by Flow Technology

Williams, Jason D.,Kerr, William J.,Leach, Stuart G.,Lindsay, David M.

supporting information, p. 12126 - 12130 (2018/09/11)

The addition of carbon nucleophiles to isocyanates represents a conceptually flexible and efficient approach to the preparation of amides. This general synthetic strategy has, however, been relatively underutilized owing to narrow substrate tolerance and the requirement for less favourable reaction conditions. Herein, we disclose a high-yielding, mass-efficient, and scalable method with appreciable functional group tolerance for the formation of amides by reaction of Grignard reagents with isocyanates. Through the application of flow chemistry and the use of substoichiometric amounts of CuBr2, this process has been developed to encompass a broad range of substrates, including reactants found to be incompatible with previously published procedures.

Nickel/Photoredox-Catalyzed Amidation via Alkylsilicates and Isocyanates

Zheng, Shuai,Primer, David N.,Molander, Gary A.

, p. 7957 - 7961 (2017/11/10)

A nickel/photoredox, dual-catalyzed amidation reaction between alkylsilicate reagents and alkyl/aryl isocyanates is reported. In contrast to the previously reported reductive coupling process, this protocol is characterized by mild reaction conditions and the absence of a stoichiometric reductant. A mechanistic hypothesis involving a nickel-isocyanate adduct is proposed based on literature precedent and further validation by experimental results.

Phototriggered Dehydration Condensation Using an Aminocyclopropenone

Mishiro, Kenji,Yushima, Yuki,Kunishima, Munetaka

supporting information, p. 4912 - 4915 (2017/09/23)

A phototriggered dehydration condensation using an aminocyclopropenone has been developed. The UV irradiation of an aminocyclopropenone generated a highly reactive ynamine in situ and the dehydration condensation of a carboxylic acid and an amine coexisting in the reaction solution smoothly proceeded to afford an amide. This reaction is completely controllable by the ON/OFF states of a UV lamp.

A highly efficient catalytic α-alkylation of unactivated amides using primary alcohols

Yao, Wubing,Ma, Xiaochen,Guo, Le,Jia, Xiangqing,Hu, Aiguo,Huang, Zheng

supporting information, p. 2919 - 2921 (2016/06/13)

The α-alkylation of unactivated amides with alcohols is described. Using a NCP-type pincer Ir complex as the precatalyst and KOtBu as the base, the reactions of secondary or tertiary acetamides with benzyl or nonbenzyl primary alcohols occur at 80 °C, furnishing the alkylation products in good yields. This method represents a practical and green means of α-alkylation of amides in a relatively mild, efficient, and selective manner with low catalyst loadings (0.5 mol %).
